Is it possible for people not to sin?

.

I pose this question after reading 1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness: by his wounds you have been healed.
Does this not also say we are healed? Past tense.

I feel there is much to be learned in this one verse as I have heard several ministers that I trust and admire preach that it is possible for man to reach a point where he does not sin. It intrigues and alludes me.

Leadership Lesson

When I first started my career in Radio Sales, the manager that hired me was dismissed a few weeks after I stared and the new manager and I didn’t see eye to eye on things. You see the previous manager and I had some the new manager wouldn’t allow. I guess being that he was new and a long time radio person himself his ideals were what I considered old school so I went about treating him as though he and his business practices were insignificant. At every turn he was hard on me about things regardless of how my sales contributions.

A good salesman needs a sales manager that is:

  •  On their side
  • Has their back
  • Is encouraging
  • Pro actively helpful

Well, a few months after a big blow up between he and I had I began to read a book on authority. It didn’t take me long to realize I needed an adjustment especially if I was to have favor with God at work. As soon as I got this message in my heart I went to my manager and repented for not appreciating him and respecting his authority.  An amazing thing happened, he immediately forgave me and from that day forward I never had another problem with him. He actually was pleasant to work for and with from that point on.

A few days after I left to pursue other opportunities I learned this manager had suffered a major heart attack and a few weeks later passed away. It was at that moment I was so very thankful God changed my heart and I was able to make peace with him before this tragedy happened.

A good sales manager needs a sales staff that is:

  • On their side
  • Has their back
  • Is encouraging
  • Pro actively helpful

I also learned that these qualities go both ways!

“Led Astray”

In my brief 39 plus years on this Earth I have never seen so many people being led astray by lies and skewed truths than I am today. The ones being led astray will ultimately bring us all down with them all because they chose to believe things they didn’t take a closer look into because they wanted to believe the falsehood. I don’t think these people to be uneducated or stupid, just the contrary. That is why it has been all so hard for me to believe. I don’t think they are non christian either as the ones I know are believers too. So what do you do? You want to open their eyes by shedding light on the situation without pushing them away or offending them at the same time. There is only one solution in times like this…prayer! Yes, prayer and it’s not a cop out. More times than I can count I have been in situations where the matter was bigger than me and out of my hands and all I could do was pray and I have to say I have seen God move mountains when I have put it in his hands and prayed diligently. So, if you find yourself in a situation where loved ones have or are being led astray stop, drop down and pray for them right then. If you don’t know how to pray maybe this will be helpful, Father God, I come to you now and lift up, Loved One to you. I pray the eyes of their enlightenment be opened so they can see more clearly. I pray their ears be opened so they can hear more clearly the word of God that is being spoken into them, I pray their minds be opened so they can understand more clearly, and their hearts be opened so they can receive the word of the Lord into their lives right now. I thank you for it, I stand on it and praise you for causing the change. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Thank you!

Roasted Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup

I will have to try this and then comment on how I like it!

voracious veggie

Simple things that will always always brighten my day:

  • This picture of kangaroos hugging
  • A cheap manicure
  • Soul music
  • Unexpected flowers
  • A new book
  • A good margarita
  • Treat yo self. And all things Amy Poehler is involved in
  • Dinnertime with Mr. F
  • Making lists of completely unimportant things

This soup is a brightener too – in color and flavor. It’s hearty and almost a little rich, without actually having anything rich in it. Depth is added to the sweetness of the carrots and sweet potatoes by roasting and the addition of earthy cumin and a little spice from Cayenne pepper balance it all out.

Roasted Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup
– 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped into 1-2 inch chunks
– 4 medium carrots, washed well and roughly chopped
– olive oil
– 6 whole cloves of garlic (skins on)
– 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

Gen Y Customer Service???

Ever wonder what happened to customer service?

I do, I wonder what it would look like and feel like to actually get good customer service. Seems like in the these days of entitled GEN Yer’s all you get is talked to like you are stupid. Why are Gen Yer’s not taught how to treat  customers?

  • Don’t walk in front of me, stop to allow me to go in front of you.
  • When I say something about my dish not being right, don’t try to tell me it wasn’t your fault just apologize and correct it. There is nothing wrong with absorbing blame even if it wasn’t your fault.
  • Go above and beyond to make a customer feel happy and special they just might come back and even ask for you next time.

To be honest, it’s ok if you get my food wrong, just correct it without incident and don’t get snippy with me and make me feel bad for asking you to do your job. In all honesty, bad customer service has become so much of the norm that my husband and I stay home rather  than go out to eat these days.
